About the Practitioner
As a member of an intentional community, for Sunny, Restorative Practice is a way of living, allowing her to 'walk the talk' in both her professional and personal life. Sunny's work is primarily in grassroots community organisations and her driving influence is helping people to develop skills that will allow them to become self sustaining when it comes to navigating their own disagreements and conflicts.
Sunny's interest in Restorative Practice was born out of living at 'Bend', a consensus based intentional community in Bega, on the NSW far south coast. About 10 years ago, the community was introduced to NVC (Non-Violent Communication) and Restorative Circles by Kate Raffin, as ways of managing issues and conflict within the community. Sunny was impressed by the effectiveness of the principles of Restorative Practice and saw an opportunity of taking the process beyond Bend and out into the broader community.
Sunny has been living by the principles of Restorative Practice for more than 10 years, and together with her more than 30 years of practice as a (w)holistic health practitioner, brings a client centred focus to her work.
