About the Practitioner
Shawn provides Restorative Practice facilitation for workplace conflict and also for families experiencing conflict. He also works with organisations and teams to help them become restorative.
Shawn also uses Restorative Practice in his work as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and in the provision of psychotherapy / counselling to couples and individuals. He has provided these services in a range of corporate, government, education and community sectors, and also has specialization for the application of RP in faith based settings.
Shawn believes Restorative Practice is especially powerful in facilitating change, healing and development in times of conflict due to its capacity to address issues related to the past, the present and the future. Through having this focus it is a modality that is able address the underlying emotional hurt and pain that often continue to be a cause of ongoing conflict, and in this way can provide a depth of healing and transformation not possible with other dispute resolution modalities.
Shawn has more than 20 years of experience working in the areas of mental health, social work and counselling.
He is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and qualifications in Pastoral Theology. He also has extensive training and long experience of working in Restorative Practice, Mediation and Family Therapy.
