About the Practitioner
Training and implementing Restorative Practices primarily in school and community settings.
As with many Restorative Practice practitioners, both Liz and Vic's respective journeys began with a meeting with Terry O'Connell.
For Liz, it was in 1996 when she attended an introductory Restorative Practice training course for teachers conducted by Terry where she realised the value of implementing such a program in schools.
For Vic, it began in 2001 when he attended a Lifeline training day led by Terry, where he had the opportunity to sit, watch and listen to conversations, the like of which he had never heard before, with people talking openly about their hopes and challenges, and with Terry modelling a different way of engaging with people.
Liz and Vic's relationship with Terry continues to this day.
Liz has worked in the education system for 35 years at all levels, from teaching through to leadership roles, and from pre-school through to tertiary institutions.
Vic spent 16 years working as both a teacher and a leader in the education system before spending the last 20 years implementing and imbedding Restorative Practices in schools.
For the last eight years Liz and Vic have worked in partnership in Restorative Practice training in both school and community settings.
Liz and Vic work collaboratively. Discussing ideas with each other to determine what works and what doesn't.
They identify the needs of the school and look to see what they can do to best help build a restorative community both for learning and for life.
