About the Practitioner
Katrina has worked in youth counselling, and as a school chaplain, and had always had an interest in the restorative process. She had the opportunity of observing how the process was conducted when she acted as a support person for a young offender and was excited to witness the affect the process had on those who were impacted. Following this experience, Katrina was highly motivated to become directly involved in the Restorative Practice process and after 15 years is still loving it.
Katrina has an extensive background in education and childhood development, with a BA, a Diploma of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. Katrina has worked in the Victorian Youth Justice Group Conferencing Program since it was established 15 years ago, and as a senior convenor for that program, mentors others in Restorative Practice. She was also a co-founder of the Central Victoria Restorative Practice Alliance and has formed and maintained collegial relationships with many practitioners who work restoratively across a broad range of settings. Katrina has attended and presented at many international Restorative Practice conferences and is always seeking innovative ways to develop Restorative Practice.
