The Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 origami cranes, known as senbazuru, is believed to grant a wish or bring good fortune. Community groups and schools, from Newcastle to Japan have folded over 10,000 cranes as a powerful symbol of hope, peace and unity. These cranes will be displayed on the Unity Tree at the Newcastle Library.

Please join us to share food and music as we light the tree on the 6th of December from 1100-1200.
